A Lot Of Love And Life To Live For

Pen, oil pastel, acrylic paint, and original collage on paper, 42 × 59.4 cm, 2025

Created in a frenzied, cathartic rush following my son's latest hospital visit, this work captures the recurring Emergency and ICU admissions that have marked our experience of caring for a medically complex child — overwhelming moments filled not only with the sounds of machines and alarms, but also with silence, waiting, watchful vigilance, and difficult decisions.

It is both a tribute to my son's extraordinary resilience and to the clinicians whose skill and compassion have carried us through many crises.

I share this work too, as a reflection on how medical spaces become etched in memory, and how experiences like these linger.
