Triangle Of Independence

'Triangle of Independence' reflects my son's growing independence at 20.
The three circles represent home, his day program, and supported independent living. Together, they form a triangle — both geographically and in my mind. The wheel forms reference his wheelchair and his movement between each place, while the coloured collage pieces acknowledge those who support him in these spaces and beyond.
I created this piece as a symbol of my beginning to let go a bit and of celebrating a milestone once unimaginable.
